About the Project
Festivals are a vital part of Indian culture. Festive traditions have turned into carefully made items, like gifts, that blend seamlessly with these happy times. At the same time, big companies introduce beautiful gift packs during the festive season to boost their sales.
This project is about designing these gift packs and making sure they have a hidden surprise. This surprise adds an unexpected burst of happiness when the person opens the pack.
We have understood packaging as combining two key components, structure and labeling. In this project we expect the surprise component to be of 75% focus on structure and 25% focus on labeling.

Visualize and design a novel structure for a festive gift pack including the brand label consistent with the visual language and product form. The packaging should also include a hidden surprise.

Eid-al Fitr
Eid al-Fitr, the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and prayer for Muslims. Celebrations include prayer services, feasting, gift-giving, and charity, emphasizing community and compassion.


Emirates aims to craft an unparalleled in-flight experience for passengers celebrating Eid. The objective is to curate a special gift box having chocolate coated nuts, offered exclusively to passengers flying with us on Eid day.

Emirates’ Approach to Eid Celebration

Special Meals: Emirates offers special Eid meals on board, catering to the culinary preferences of Muslim passengers. These meals often include traditional Eid delicacies.

In-Flight Entertainment: Emirates provides a diverse range of entertainment options, including religious religious programs and movies that align with the spirit of Eid, allowing passengers to celebrate their faith while traveling.

Cultural Sensitivity: Emirates staff is trained to be culturally sensitive, respecting the traditions and practices of passengers, especially during religious holidays.

Festive Atmosphere: During Eid, Emirates creates a festive atmosphere at their airport lounges and sometimes on flights, with decoration and special activities , enhancing the overall travel experience.
Emirates intends to enhance the overall flying experience by highlighting the surprise element which is a meticulously crafted feature: upon opening the box, passengerswill witness a captivating sight -
the moon gracefully sliding upwards, symbolizing the auspicious rise of the crescent moon on the day of Eid.

Double slider mechanism: The box features an innovative double slider mechanism. Pulling the box triggers simultaneous actions on both sides.

Drawer with Chocolate-Coated Nuts: One side of the box reveals a drawer. Upon pulling, the drawer smoothly opens, unveiling a delightful assortment of chocolate -coated nuts wrapped in golden wrappers.

Sliding Greeting Card: On the opposite side, a greeting card is elegantly positioned. As the box is opened, the card slides out gracefullycarrying warm greetings.

Synchronized Motion: Achieved through a specialized mechanism, a plastic sheet, strategically rolled under the drawer and the card ensures their synchronized opening.
Structure and Mechanism

Color Theme
Utilized dark, luxurious shades such as deep blue, purple, black, green and maroon to represent the serenity of the night sky.

Incorporate an intricate Arabic pattern around the central circle of the box. This pattern will not only evoke the festive spirit of Eid but also align seamlessly with the Emirates brand theme, adding culture elegance.
