LINONEUM PRINTING

Print Making

Lino printing, also known as linocut or linoleum block printing, is a printmaking technique that involves creating images or designs on a linoleum block and then transferring those designs onto paper or another surface.

Drying

You will need linoleum sheets, carving tools, ink, a rubber roller, paper and other mediums.

Begin by sketching your design on the linoleum block's surface or transfer a design onto the block using transfer paper.

Use carving tools to remove the linoleum material from areas you want to remain white in the final print. The raised areas will hold the ink.

Squeeze a small amount of printing ink onto a flat surface (often called an ink slab). Roll the brayer through the ink to evenly coat it, and then apply the ink to the carved linoleum block, making sure the entire design is covered.

Carefully place your paper onto the inked linoleum block. Gently but firmly press the paper onto the block.

Allow your prints to air dry. This may take some time depending on the type of ink used.

Mind in Solitude

The mind in the state of solitude can engage in a wide range of activities and experiences, depending on the individual and the context. Solitude provides an opportunity for introspection, self-reflection, and mental exploration.

Here, I am depicting the watchful mind of an individual by the ship in the middle of a chaotic storm, having an ironical approach of calmness surrounding it.

Process Gallery

Two prominent elements used to show the irony are the storm and the flower. The entire composition is made using my previous original artworks -
the ship, storm, flower and iris.
